Real Life Learning Pathway
Real Life Learning Pathway

We know community organisations and social enterprises deliver amazing programs and services, and understand that you might want to deliver more programs or services to improve the livelihoods of your community members or staff yet may not have sufficient funds or time to cover the costs of new program design.

We believe everyone has a role in creating social change, and people with lived experience are fantastically positioned to guide us all in tackling some difficult problems. We also recognise that some people need to experience a journey of personal success before they engage in social action.

Each of the programs are tailored to participants’ individual needs, strengths, gifts, dreams and passions. Each program can be delivered within a group, one-on-one via staff, stand alone or delivered as a set of two or three or as the full Pathway, depending on your current programs and activities.

We have highly skilled, trained and experienced leaders who can deliver the programs in partnership with you or we offer a ‘Train the Funcilitator’ package for each program that can be delivered by you to groups or individuals. Content includes how to manage the programs as projects, powerpoints, lesson plans, activities and activity resources and worksheets for participants. We will also be developing the programs as blended learning, with online learning included in the package and how to facilitate online learning.

Based on our human person-centered design, strengths-based approach and Funcilitation© we could work with you in co-creating new programs and activities with your service users or staff. Contact us to inquire about the Real Life Learning Programs as a journey of discovery for young people and adults in creating a life they love, thriving in the new world of work, and becoming active changemakers.

My Self

My Self

My Self consists of 5 sessions where we unearth participants’ personality, values, interests, strengths, passions, and dreams which become the compass for their Pathway journey. As they gain a greater sense of their identity into the future, participants explore opportunities with their gifts and reflect on areas for growth. They will also learn how to communicate with others, how to have courageous conversations with key people in their life and strengthen their personal boundaries.

My Money

My Money

My Money consists of 6 sessions designed for participants to know, flow and grow their finances. Financial capability, understanding personal money behaviours and initiating action are critical in supporting financial literacy. This unique program is designed to increase confidence, motivation, knowledge and skills about finances in an interactive, fun and creative way.
My money focuses on
• personal and family money beliefs
• goal setting
• spending and earning
• dealing with debt
• saving
• creating supportive money buddies to activate goals

There will be weekly challenges, games and relevant scenarios, practical tips and new habits to form.

My Calling

My Calling

My Calling ensures participants have the tools necessary to stand out and thrive. The program consists of 10 sessions for job seekers who want a job, a different job, or wish to explore a solo business idea. The program builds on the strengths, talents and passions of the participant as a basis for clarifying each participant’s calling. Participants assess and plan to meet the 7 qualities employers are seeking and implement the steps to become job ready.
As ‘portfolio’ work is relevant now and into the future, we also explore how to build a successful portfolio that includes foundational and technical skills. We also explore ideas to set-up a micro-business. My calling is future focused in a time of declining full-time work!

My Place

My Place

My Place consists of 6 sessions and educates participants in the range of housing options available now and into the future. They will learn about tenant rights and responsibilities using simple clear messages, games and fun activities. They will learn how to live in harmony with others in shared housing and the steps to take to move from renting to owning a home. My place is relevant for young people moving out of home, people who are currently renting and want to know what other housing options are available and older aged people who may have owned their own homes and are now needing to enter the rental market for whatever reason.

My Community

My Community

My Community is a 3-4 month program for participants to design a local project that tackles local issues as a team. It consists of four phases:
share issues and lived experience and create ideas to tackle real world problems
create a project team to take the idea and apply project design methods, learning how to manage the team and the projects with easy to use tools
bring the idea to action with a project
celebrate the project progress and impact
Participants gain the opportunity to build on and practice employable skills such as project learning, leadership, teamwork and communication. Young people can participate in Youth Younify (learn more) for an in-depth experience of creating social change.

My Future

My Future

My Future is a 2-session follow-up that reflects and applies the learnings from the Pathway as preparation for their future. Participants will develop a Life Plan, identifying personal and community networks. We will facilitate a process of support including the possibility of participants creating their own support team. At the end of the program will be a celebration of their journey.
